As a certified recovery coach, I help people learn the tools and skills they need to craft a beautiful, fulfilling life. A life so good they would never want to ruin it by drinking again.
I quit drinking the first time in 2019. I was miserable. I thought alcohol was at the root of my problems, so I could’t figure out why things still felt so… empty. Eventually, the effort to stay sober just didn’t feel worth it anymore, and I went back to drinking.
When I quit drinking again in 2021, I realized it was going to have to be different this time around.
What I learned is that this journey is about so much more than not drinking.
It’s walking away not just from alcohol, but from people pleasing, from putting everyone else before yourself, from perfectionism, from negative self talk, from keeping everything inside until you explode. It’s developing the skills to handle the hard emotions. It’s about finding yourself and honoring yourself… and ultimately freeing yourself.
